On Night Zero’s third engagement at the Emerald City Comicon, including the famous free HDR photobooth and the premiere of Volume Three.
Last weekend, Night Zero once again came out in force at Seattle’s ninth annual Emerald City Comicon, and what a weekend it was. Our third year presenting at this show, ECCC’s first three-day schedule, and me flying in from Europe less than two hours before the doors opened. It was an absolute blast, and I give a great “thank you” to all the comic and culture fans who visited us this year, as well as to the incredible and tireless Night Zero team for once again putting on such a good show. Two years ago, ECCC 2009 was our very first convention experience, and seems so long in the past. We had little knowledge of culture conventions, and while the idea was vaguely tossed around we had never seriously considered presenting at a show. It was only after having dinner with Jim Demonakos, creator and organizer of ECCC, for reasons completely unrelated to comic books, that it became a real consideration. Towards the end of dinner the topic of Night Zero came up, I explained the project and our then just-released Volume One, and he encouraged us to grab a booth and come share our work with the world.
